Cooker hood manufacturer Westin has revealed its latest Edge collection, which it says combines sleek modern design with a completely new way of moving air in the kitchen. Its aim is to capture fumes from a much larger area compared to a conventional cooker hood baseplate area, in three types of design – a ceiling hood, a built-in hood and a traditional chimney-style hood.
The Edge's baseplate uses the air's natural path and encourages it to move diagonally in a gentle curve into the hood through the vaulted sides to the central panel without any of the traditional restrictions. This natural air movement is said to reduce turbulence and negate the need to increase size along with power, and therefore noise.
The three types of hood feature remote control, as well as LCD touch controls or push buttons. The slimline LED can be adjusted from cool white to warm white, and can be set anywhere in between. Pictured is the Serna Edge model.
