BC Designs cuts painting service lead time to meet pre-Xmas demand

Colchester-based BC Designs has announced that it has reduced its lead time for its painting service from 25 days to 10 days to help facilitate retailer sales during a key trading period.

The company’s painting service, which extends to its copper, acrylic roll-top and Omnia solid-surface baths, as well as matching basins, is a flagship offering for the company and its most popular service, especially following the trend for more colour in the bathroom.

Previously adding a 25-day lead time to orders placed that utilised in stock items, the newer lead time of 10 days, which will run until at least the New Year, will allow retailers to be able to secure orders and finish off projects during what is considered a key trading period as homeowners look to complete renovation jobs ahead of Christmas.

Adam Smith, national sales manager at BC Designs, said: “BC Designs is committed to looking at ways to continue to support its retailers. While we have invested heavily in our stock capabilities and supply chain to ensure we are able to hold more stock for quick delivery, our painting service is done by hand in our Colchester workshop.

“Over this key trading period, we have taken on additional staff to cope with demand and reduce lead times by more than half. We hope this will be of significant benefits to retailers who are looking to secure sales and complete projects in the near future.

“The painted boat bath remains a flagship product and one that is popular with homeowners who are looking to create a statement bathroom through the use of colour. We should now be able to help even more get their dream bathroom ahead of Christmas.”
