An independent time and motion study, commissioned by Geberit UK and conducted by the Building Services Research and Information Association, has confirmed the installation speed advantage of Geberit FlowFit compared to Geberit Mapress Copper and Geberit Mepla.

The study measured the time required to complete the same installation task using each system, from pipe cutting to final assembly – all under controlled conditions. The results showed:

Geberit FlowFit: 43 minutes
Geberit Mepla: 58 minutes
Geberit Mapress Copper: 161 minutes

This represents a 26% reduction in installation time compared to Geberit Mepla and a 73% reduction compared to Geberit Mapress Copper. Pipe sizes tested ranged from 15mm to 25mm.

Anthony Corbett, product applications engineer at Geberit, said: “This BSRIA study confirms what we often hear from installers – that Geberit FlowFit is a game-changer when it comes to ease of use and speed of installation. While each of our piping systems play a vital role in delivering high-performance, robust solutions for different project requirements, Geberit FlowFit is clearly delivering measurable efficiency gains on site. From intuitive tool guidance to clear pressing indicators and a practical design, the system has been engineered to support faster, safer, and more consistent installations.”

The company said the results form part of Geberit UK’s ongoing focus on developing systems that improve installation efficiency and support best practice in the building services sector.
