Franke assures retailers of product availability in wake of Waterline closure

In the wake of Waterline going into administration, and the uncertainty and disruption it presents for retailers’ businesses, Franke UK has announced that it can assure ongoing product availability of its sink, tap and appliance portfolio through its 2 Franke-owned distributors of Sinks & Things across England and Wales, and Forth & Clyde in Scotland. These are the exclusive distributors on the mainland for Franke product and are in a strong position to service trade customers. Service from its distribution partners Bodel and Gowan Home remains as usual for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland respectively.

Craig McIntyre, MD of Franke UK, said: “This is sad news indeed for the industry. Waterline has been a valued distribution partner to Franke for over four decades and we are entirely sympathetic to their business challenge and its unfortunate impact on their employees. This development has inevitably left retailers and contract customers with concern over fulfilling current orders in the short term and being able to source Franke products ongoing.

“We have systems in place and are working very hard to ensure customers can transition quickly and smoothly to our 2 direct distribution businesses to fulfil urgent requirements and provide long-term reliable supply of product. We have extensive stock on the ground and can offer delivery across England, Wales and Scotland. We are receiving a lot of inbound enquiries and are prioritising immediate requirements to fulfil them without delay. Everyone will be dealt with promptly to help them keep their projects and businesses on track.”
