Be Modern Ltd and Be Modern Holdings Ltd has announced that the business has transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth and longterm strategy.

This transition places the future of the organisation firmly in the hands of the people who contribute to its success every day. The company says the move reflects Be Modern’s commitment to 'preserving its core values, strengthening its culture, and securing long-term stability for employees, customers, and partners'.

The decision also honours the vision of the company’s founder, Walter Bloodworth, whose enduring wish was that the business should remain rooted in the people who helped build it. Bloodworth believed that Be Modern’s strength came from its workforce, and that the business would thrive by ensuring its employees played a central role in its future. The shareholders unanimously agreed that an Employee Ownership Trust is the most authentic and forward-looking way to respect and uphold his legacy.

Under the new structure, the company’s leadership team and organisational framework will remain unchanged. Customers and suppliers will continue to work with the same contacts, and day-to-day operations will proceed without interruption.

Be Modern MD Mike Spink said: "Becoming an employee-owned business empowers the workforce to have a meaningful stake in the company’s direction and success. This model supports a more engaged, invested, and motivated team – ensuring that Be Modern is well positioned for sustainable growth and continued excellence. What will strengthen, however, is the company’s longstanding commitment to quality, service, and reliability."
