The Used Kitchen Exchange (UKE) is celebrating this week after its regional title win in the Barclays Entrepreneur Awards 2022. Nominated in the ‘Sustainability’ category, the entry criteria requires companies to demonstrate having built an enduring business model that is commercially viable, sustainable, and scalable, placing sustainability at its core.
The accolade has earned UKE a shortlisting as a finalist in the Sustainability category of the national awards that take place on the 3rd November.
Now in their seventh year, the Barclays Entrepreneur Awards consist of eight award categories, ranging from start-up through to sustainable success. Their aim is to place entrepreneurs in the spotlight for their outstanding contribution to industry, the UK economy and society.
Commenting on the win Helen Lord, founder of UKE, pictured, said: “Our vision from the outset has been to support and promote sustainability within the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industry and we are delighted that our efforts have received recognition from Barclays. Following our receipt of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development earlier this year, this latest accolade pays further testament to our circular thinking business model and our brilliant team whose dedication and passion have helped bring it to fruition.”
