The hotel experience is nothing without a next-level bathroom adding that extra-special dimension of luxury that every guest seeks – Emma Hedges presents 10 stunning bathroom designs offering plenty of ideas to borrow.

1. Situated in Richmond, Surrey and overlooking the River Thames, the Petersham Hotel’s Tower suite has been refurbished to ensure that visitors enjoy the very best bathroom experience, and tile and stone protection expert Schlüter-Systems was on hand to provide a level entry system solution. The company designed and installed a full waterproofing system and underfloor heating throughout the bathroom floor.

2. The suites at the Carlton Tower Jumeirah hotel in Knightsbridge blend classic design with modern aesthetics to create a sense of tranquillity, and an escape from the hectic pace of city life. Guest bathrooms have been decked out floor-to-ceiling in Volakas marble sourced from Turkey, with Waterworks brassware in polished nickel, Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware and Grown Alchemist toiletries.

3. The Equinox Hotel New York, which opened its doors in 2019, is the eponymous flagship of the luxury fitness brand. Located within the tallest skyscraper in the impressive Hudson Yards development on Manhattan’s West Side, the hotel's penthouse suite features a spa-grade bathroom furnished with a mirrored dressing area, and the Vetrina black freestanding bath from Lusso's stone bath collection.

4.
The Gardea Soulfamily Resort is located on Lake Garda, with magnificent views of Italy's largest lake as well as woods and olive trees. It has been fitted out to a luxurious standard, complete with RAK Ceramics sanitaryware and surfaces. The bathrooms in each of the guest rooms offer an invitation to relax and rejuvenate, with twin RAK Ceramics countertop washbasins being a feature of the space, practically and aesthetically.

5. Guests stepping into the bathrooms of Maabinhura Island's accommodation are greeted by a masterclass in style and functionality. The bathrooms feature products from BagnoDesign, including the elegantly shaped Corsair wall-mounted WCs, and beautiful Koy bushed nickel mixers and showering, with matching sleek M-Line accessories. Sanipex Group’s AquaCo shower drains complete the bathrooms, along with custom countertop washbasins.

6. The Priesteregg Premium Eco Resort, in the municipality of Leogang in the Salzburgerland province, sits on a plateau at a height of 1100 metres. This is an exclusive refuge for mind, body and spirit, and fittings and spa applications from Dornbracht make an important contribution. The company's Vaia range appears in Brushed Platinum as a freestanding tap fitting by the bath, in front of full-length glass windows.

7. Set amidst 81 acres along the shores of Hawaii's Kahuwai Bay, the Kona Village resort offers 37 suites that are all elegantly appointed with a blend of custom furnishings and Hawaiian artisan pieces. They feature outdoor showers, freestanding stone tubs, and floormounted bath fillers from Waterworks.

8. Situated in the cave dwellings of the mountains of Matera, sits the Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & Spa, which has been designed taking inspiration from its surrounding area. Throughout the project Grohe’s Essence brassware was selected as the exclusive bathroom fitting range, providing an organic silhouette with a naturally curved, slim profile, while the brand’s integrated technology provides resource-saving characteristics with a reduced water flow.

9. The Ambassador Hotel, next to the world-famous opera house in the vibrant Zurich district of Seefeld, overlooks the idyllic shore of Lake Zurich. Dornbracht's Vaia brassware, designed by Sieger Design, has been installed in the hotel's bathrooms on the marble washstand and in the shower. The special bronze finish evokes the style of the turn of the century, while the flowing forms and geometric contours create a modern contrast.

10.
The Londoner, from one of the UK’s largest family-owned hotel groups, Edwardian Hotels London, has 350 rooms and suites. The majority of the bathrooms feature one of Bette’s most popular built-in shower baths, the BetteForm, while the others feature luxurious, freestanding BetteLux Oval Silhouette baths, as pictured here. Fitting with the hotel’s sustainability focus, all Bette products come with a 30-year warranty, are made from only natural materials and are fully recyclable.
