Lancashire-based hand-made sink manufacturer Whitebirk Sink Company, which is part of the Darwen Terracotta Group, is continuing its investment in UK craftsmanship and international growth with a series of product launches, facility expansions, and new distribution partnerships across Europe and the USA.
To better serve its retail and distribution partners, the company has expanded its warehouse and trade showroom. At the same time, Whitebirk is continuing its investment in its Kréte range of concrete basins, with new formats and finishes planned throughout the next 18 months. It is also developing new fireclay sink textures and workstation sink designs, which it says is in response to demand for more functional, design-led kitchen solutions. Whitebirk has also expanded into European and US markets, establishing dedicated distribution infrastructure on both US coasts.
Steve Allen, managing director of Whitebirk, said: “We’re proud of our roots in British ceramic manufacturing, but we’re also focused on the future, investing in new products, new markets, and the next generation of skilled makers. We believe there’s strong international appetite for high-quality, handcrafted products from the UK that tell a story and are built to last.
“With recent changes in the local manufacturing landscape, our role as the region’s last remaining fireclay sink factory carries added responsibility. We’re not just investing in the Whitebirk brand and infrastructure, we’re investing in the local community, preserving specialist skills and creating opportunities for future generations here in Lancashire.”
