Interior Door Systems (IDS) the Warrington-based specialists in sliding door technology, has announced the completion of its management buyout. Following a company-wide review of the IDS operation, MD Sam Russell, and commercial director Steve Healy, will head up the new management structure.
Andy Russell, pictured, founder and outgoing MD, has been at the helm throughout the company's 28-year history. IDS is now one of the UK’s leading sliding door manufacturers, supplying builders' merchants, retailers, developers and installers. Andy Russell will step down from day-to-day management to become chairman of IDS, while his son Sam will take over as MD. The company says the MBO management team, supported by its operations team, will be exploring new opportunities and markets and forging strategic partnerships with like-minded companies in the sector.
Andy Russell said: “I am extremely proud to have been able to create the successful heritage which is now Interior Door Systems. The last 28 years have included some business challenges, including the banking crisis and, of course, Covid. Despite these trading difficulties, IDS has grown – seeing challenges as opportunities. Now, we are ready for the next stage in our growth, and I recognise the enormous potential that Sam and Steve’s vision presents for the future of the business.”
Sam Russell added: "I am delighted to be working with Steve and our experienced operations team. We are committed to an exciting growth strategy, and together, we are confident that we can deliver against expectations and support the continued aspirations of our team, customers, and business partners.”
