Triton Showers achieves Carbon Neutral certification for 3rd year

Triton Showers has been awarded Carbon Neutral certification for its operation for the 3rd year running, marking another significant step on the company’s sustainability journey.

The accreditation was awarded by Planet Mark, an internationally recognised sustainability certification. The boundary of the certification represents the majority of emissions associated with the company’s directly controlled operations. The emissions include Electricity, T&D Losses, Natural Gas, Water, Fleet, Business Travel, Waste, Paper, Refrigerants, and Gas Oil/Red Diesel, in the 2023/24 financial year, in accordance with PAS 2060:2014.

In order to achieve carbon neutrality, Triton has invested in a range of verified offsets equivalent to its total measured carbon footprint. One project the manufacturer has contributed towards involves the distribution of over 100,000 clean water filters to rural communities in Laos, many of which still rely on boiling their drinking water to prevent diseases.

Accelerated rollout of its electric vehicle fleet (EVs) and its target initiatives aimed at reducing on-site gas consumption have also collectively helped to lower Triton’s Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint by 8.8% using a market-based methodology.

David Tutton, MD at Triton Showers, said: “We are delighted to receive carbon neutral accreditation for the third year running. We are only part way through our journey to reaching Net Zero and, while 2035 may seem like a long time away, it’s important that we act now to remain on our reduction glide path towards that goal.

“As Britain’s leading shower manufacturer, we have a responsibility to actively reduce our impact on the planet. Placing sustainability at the heart of our business strategy is simply the right thing to do, for our planet, our people, and for our business, and this certification shows that we are taking the right steps to lead by example.”

Triton was recently presented with a King’s Award for Enterprise, recognising the brand’s commitment to sustainable development and integrating sustainability into its long-term business strategy and Net Zero goals.
