Franke acquires leading kitchen hood supplier Røros Metall AS

Franke has announced the acquisition of Røros Metall AS, a leading supplier of kitchen hoods in the Nordic region. The Swiss Franke Group, headquartered in Aarburg, is expanding its Nordic presence and strengthening its expertise in central ventilation with the acquisition of Røros Metall, a premium Norwegian manufacturer of RørosHetta kitchen hoods and ventilation systems. The deal includes 100% of Røros Metall shares. Financial details remain confidential.

Røros Metall will become part of Franke Home Solutions, a division of the Franke Group and global leader in intelligent systems and solutions for residential kitchens. This integration fortifies Franke’s position in the Nordic market, combining the strengths of both companies in sustainable, energy-efficient ventilation solutions, and RørosHetta will thrive within the Franke global network.

Founded in 1946, Røros Metall is a family-owned company and has a history of innovation and high-quality products. It launched its first kitchen hood in 1981 and has since become a key player in the Nordic region. For more than 20 years now, Røros Metall has collaborated with Faber, Franke’s leading brand in kitchen ventilation, further strengthening its expertise in the sector. In 2024, Røros Metall also became the official distributor for Franke sinks and taps in Norway.

Håvard Augensen, owner and CEO of Røros Metall, will step into a new role as head of Franke's operations in the Nordic region and will actively contribute to the growth of the Franke Home Solutions division in the Nordic region. His focus will be on reinforcing expertise in the central ventilation sector and expanding Franke’s regional and European presence. He succeeds Christoph Stuebi, who will lead the integration of Røros Metall, ensuring a smooth transition.
