Simon Acres Group promotes KBB careers at local school

Following its successful Careers Day earlier this month, which it hosted with Cyncly, the Simon Acres Group (SAGL) has visited a local school to meet with students and the management team, and discuss all things apprenticeships.

Jordan Burns, SAGL sales director, along with client relationship manager Lewis Morrish and Level 3 business administration apprentice Kieron Carroll, attended a student careers day at Manor Secondary School in Raund. The day took place with Year 12 and 13 pupils, who acted as employers, while the Year 11 students applied and interviewed for jobs in their preferred sectors.

Deputy head Darren Carter said he had been delighted to welcome the team and has asked them back to host a workshop at the next event. The team will support the students on CV writing and interview techniques, and provide an insight into the career options that are available to them within the KBB and merchant industry.

Jordan Burns said: "We are committed to raising awareness among young people of the opportunities available in the KBB sector, and promoting the benefits of apprenticeships and student work experience to employers. Our online training modules are free to all apprentices and we advertise all apprenticeships positions for free on our KBB Services job board.

"We will also be welcoming two students into our head office for work experience. We want to lead by example and encourage others to interact more with their local schools and colleges. Young people come with a wealth of knowledge of the modern world, and their willingness to work and learn is remarkable."
