CRL Stone: Dark surfaces are having a moment in kitchen design

Following on from the lean towards two-tone kitchens that have proved to be so popular over the past year, darker shades on worktops are now often used in contrast to light coloured cabinetry and bright pops of colour. This is particularly the case in larger kitchens and open-plan settings, which tend to be blessed with lots of natural light to help carry the look. In such situations dark surfaces, such as grey and black, make the space feel welcoming and warm, while their timeless qualities mean this is a trend that also has enormous longevity.

Ceralsio Belvedere Black from CRL Stone is a ceramic surface which makes a striking impression in the modern setting, whether chosen in a Natural or Polished finish.  Often used in contrast with white for a stylish monochrome effect, Belvedere Black combines seamlessly with other on-trend materials such as timber for a stunning effect. This surface is made all the more special by the beautiful marble-inspired patterning running throughout it. Unlike marble though, Ceralsio is a ceramic surface that is totally impermeable, completely stain and scratch resistant, very thermally stable and shock resistant, making it a popular choice for the kitchen where its practical advantages are equal to its visual appeal.
