Verona relocates distribution centre to Doncaster

Tile distributor Verona has relocated its distribution centre to Doncaster, creating a hub that it says will service the whole of the UK more efficiently.

Verona, which specialises in supplying ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles to national and independent customers from its head office in Leeds, has moved its distribution operation to what it says is a new state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Thorne to support the business in distributing stock to customers throughout the UK.

The company says that it has has experienced a period of rapid growth over the last five years, which resulted in it outgrowing its warehouse space. At 106,000sq ft, the new distribution centre offers more space, along with improved facilities and working conditions for the team, while providing a long-term solution that offers room for further growth, and allows Verona to operate more efficiently and hold additional stock.

Philip George, operations manager at Verona, said: “As a business we decided to relocate due to an increase in customer demand, and the need to meet future business requirements. Our new distribution centre will allow us to improve on our excellent level of service, and cater for all areas of the UK in the best way possible.”

The business began a phased transition to the new site over the last few months, with the distribution centre now fully operational. Verona’s head office remains at Project House in Leeds.
