Rotpunkt introduces new wood finishes reflecting trend for darkness

German kitchen manufacturer Rotpunkt has unveiled its latest new finishes – Walnut and Black Oak – which both embrace the current trend for dark tones in the kitchen

A contemporary dark wood with distinct grain patterns, Walnut is brand-new by Rotpunkt and shown here on a large kitchen island with matching top units in Memory RI: a range of oak veneer doors with distinct vertical grooves. Further accentuated by the warm rich colours of wood, Walnut is 1 of 15 new finishes for Memory RI in 2024, to create even more design options for the handleless kitchen and living space.

Black Oak is part of the Loft Oak door range and is 1 of 3 wood finishes, which are FSC Certified to provide a greener alternative for the UK homeowner. Designed with realistic wood grain and smooth surface texture, Black Oak complements the rising trend for dark wood interiors and the matching panel beneath the breakfast bar defines the seating space while creating contrast against the deep walnut. As the kitchen continues to adopt more earthy shades to emulate nature, Loft Black Oak provides the perfect backdrop in an open plan setting.

Matt Phillips, head of UK operations at Rotpunkt, said: “Darker colours have always been regarded as more luxurious and when paired with quality raw materials like walnut and glass, UK homeowners are able to create a sophisticated look in the kitchen that adds depth and dimension. As we look to next year, the need for tailored storage solutions will only increase and continue to serve individual needs and lifestyles that centre around the home. In fact, I predict that supersized cabinetry and vertical storage solutions that maximise footprint will continue to rise as they help to utilise space more effectively by creating new planning options for the modern kitchen living space.”
