Toto scoops iF Design Award for Flotation tub and CE collection

Japanese brand Toto has won an iF Design Award, standing out in the Product category for its design of the round and square Flotation tub, and the co-ordinating vessels in the CE collection.

iF Design organisers have revealed that nearly 10,000 registered products and projects were submitted for evaluation in the 2021 awards. When it came to Toto's winning entry, the panel of 98 design experts drew attention to the extensive development work and testing behind the two different versions of the Flotation tub, which allow the user's body to assume the ideal posture for relaxation. The CE collection features round or square vessels that co-ordinate with each tub design.

According to iF, the ergonomic, relaxation-promoting design of the round and square tub, and the co-ordinating designs of the tub and the vessels give the bath 'an elegant ambience'. On the subject of the vessel styles, it added: 'The shape of the vessel makes handwashing comfortable and prevents spray.'
