Hoover has added a new large-capacity, American-style fridge-freezer to its product portfolio complete with 521L of storage. With eight shelves, eight door balconies and four deep drawers, the HHSBSO 6174XWDK is able to accommodate 344L in the fridge and 177L in the freezer.
According to the company, the total no-frost appliance will never need to be defrosted and keeps each shelf area in the refrigerator at the same temperature with no cold spots, so that food remains fresh for longer. Complete with a water dispenser, the model has LED lights in both the fridge and freezer sections.
Measuring 1770mm high, the HHSBSO 6174XWDK is controlled via an on-door digital display and offers eco, super-cool and super-freeze functions. As a result of its A++ energy efficiency rating, the fridge-freezer will consume 325 kWh a year and generates a noise output of only 42dB.
Penny Bellis, cooling product manager – freestanding appliances at Haier Europe, said: “Fridge-freezers remain the top-purchased appliance in the UK and, more than any other product category, needing a larger model is the main reason for buying.
“Energy efficiency is very important to people in the UK too, so much so that 64% of consumers have considered the environmental impact of major domestic appliances before purchasing and 59% have delayed replacement purchases until they are absolutely necessary. With respect to these points it was vital for us to launch a product that would meet growing consumer demand for larger, energy-efficient fridge-freezers.”
