Halcyon Interiors marks milestone birthday with all-day celebration

Independent kitchen retailer Halcyon Interiors has marked its 40th birthday with an all-day celebration at its flagship showroom on London’s Wigmore Street. The event included cooking demonstrations from celebrity chef Dipna Anand, who also served food from her restaurant ‘Brilliant Restaurant’ in Southall. There was also a New Zealand wine-tasting from Specialist Cellars, sponsored by Fisher & Paykel and Warendorf kitchen furniture manufacturer, plus La Marzocco (creators of artisan coffee makers) showed guests how to make the perfect espresso martini to keep the party going into the evening.

Guests included a mix of clients, suppliers, partners, staff, architects, interior designers and journalists who came along to help them celebrate. Among the attendees were teams from Westin, Warendorf, CRL Stone, Fisher & Paykel, Eggersmann, Empty State Lighting, Kaelo, Videri Aquariums, plus KBBFocus, Designer magazine, Enki, and influencers including @hygge_for_home and @lifeofaninteriorstylist.

Founded in 1981 by Susan and Stephen Gobel with a small kitchen showroom in North-West London, Halcyon Interiors has grown to serve all areas of the capital. In 2005 it opened its flagship on London’s Wigmore Street with 10 displays over two floors. Halcyon is now run by son and son-in-law team, Martin Gobel and James Paxton, together with sales director, Ashley Collins, and design director, Graham Robinson.

Graham Robinson said: “We wanted to celebrate in style, and at the same time create our own kitchen event where familiar faces from our industry can all get together – something which has not been possible recently”.

James Paxton, director at Halcyon Interiors, pictured, added: “Forty years as an independent retailer is something we are very proud of. Halcyon Interiors is still very much a family business – we are proud of that fact and value our team highly. We hope this event celebrated all the staff, clients, journalists, suppliers and contractors that continue to contribute to Halcyon Interiors’ success and longevity."
