Spanish bathroom product manufacturer Acquabella has revealed that it has installed an automated production line at its facility in Vall d’Uixò for the manufacture of shower trays. The new line is said to be the largest of its kind in Europe, and has 7,500sq m exclusively devoted to the manufacture of shower trays made of polyurethane resin with mineral filler. With this extension, Acquabella says it has succeeded in increasing its annual capacity by 150%, from 240,000 shower trays to 600,000.
The new line uses advanced technology that has been designed speed up production: from an RFID system that tracks orders throughout the entire production process to painting robots, in a continuous chain that will ensure optimal results and improved working conditions at the plant.
Construplas, Acquabella’s parent company, now has three separate buildings; the facility devoted to shower tray manufacture, another for worktops, panels and accessories, and a third unit that houses innovation and product development. The company says that this latest investment is expected to lead to significant improvements in delivery times for customers.
