In what it says is a response to changing consumer needs, Howdens has launched the RoomFlex Pro Door system, that can be used to create a multiple sliding-door configuration without the need for a traditional track at the bottom allowing two rooms to flow into one another seamlessly.
A recent report by John Lewis has found that one in five homeowners are set to rejig their open-plan living space to create more defined areas. Driven by how people have used their home over the last 18 months and with a rise in homeworking, Howdens believes sectioned-off rooms and spaces are making a comeback.
Harry Sample, head of doors and joinery at Howdens, said: “Over the coming months and years, there will be a growing demand for products that provide a greater flexibility in how people can use the space within their home. We’ll see a combination of spacious, bright areas for everyday living and entertaining, but also smaller, closed-off spaces for a family snug or homeworking solutions.
“Using the RoomFlex Pro systems provides flexibility in how spaces are used. Kitchen/diners can be opened up or separated from a snug or family room depending on what is needed at that moment in time.”
