Bath-based bathroom supplier Roper Rhodes has announced the appointment of its new group sales director, Chris Vallance. The opportunity had become open following Leigh Leather taking on the managing director role at the end of last year.
Chris has spent over 30 years in the bathroom industry, 20 of those years were with Mira Showers where he held a number of positions in both sales and marketing. In his time at Mira he held both sales and brand marketing management roles, completing his time at Mira as national sales manager. He left Mira in 2008 to join Salamander pumps as sales and marketing director. In his time at Salamander, Chris helped to more than double the turnover and deliver a four-fold increase in profits.
An experienced board director, Chris joins Roper Rhodes to oversee the further development of the sales team and to deliver on the business’ growth aspirations in the next three to five years. Chris commented: “Roper Rhodes is very much a performing business, and a business that I have long admired from the outside looking in – it has excellent sales and marketing teams, with a strong new product development track record and ongoing ethos of putting the customer at the centre of what they do. My primary focus will be around delivering on the strategic plans of the business, with a focus on customer satisfaction, while supporting and developing the sales function.”
Leigh Leather, managing director, said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Chris to the team, we have taken our time over the recruitment for this vital role and saw lots of strong candidates. Chris is a great fit and has masses of experience. I look forward to working with him to achieve our ambitious objectives."
