Kaldewei has launched its new Meisterstück Oyo Duo bathtub, which has been created for the brand by the Munich-based designer Stefan Diez. With this freestanding bath, the German bathroom manufacturer says it has demonstrated how luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand, even in smaller bathrooms.
The Meisterstück Oyo Duo combines organic, natural design with durable materials made from recyclable Kaldewei steel enamel. As part of his design process, Diez made sure that each of the components can at some future point be returned to the material cycle without any problems. The double-walled bathtub has been inspired by Japanese porcelain and consists of 100% recyclable and sustainable steel enamel.
Although the interior shape of the Meisterstück Oyo Duo is said to be extremely comfortable and the perfect size to relax in, it has been designed to hold less water, which represents another benefit to the environment.
“The Meisterstück Oyo Duo is modern and timeless at the same time. It is not part of a fashion, rather it is the result of a process. It looks as if a liquid, flowing form has been frozen the moment it touches the ground,” said Stefan Diez.
The new bath is available in two sizes, and comes in Alpine White and a variety of colours from Kaldewei’s Coordinated Colours Collection.
