The findings from the latest emerging trends report from Houzz chime with what we're seeing at Waterline, says CEO Michael Marriott – here's how you can get on board.

As the leading platform for home remodelling and design with a community of over 70 million homeowners and home design enthusiasts worldwide, Houzz is perfectly placed to identify the top emerging home design trends. Here at Waterline, we always look forward to the release of its search insights and the recent 2025 Houzz UK Emerging Trends Report didn’t disappoint!

Read on to find out how you can help your customers tap into the hottest trends with Waterline’s portfolio of market-leading kitchen and bathroom products...

Luxurious Bathrooms
When it comes to bathrooms, indulgence seems to be the name of the game as homeowners look to bring a splash of opulence to their interiors. Identified by Houzz as one of the top, emerging trends of 2025, luxurious bathrooms are certainly back in vogue.

In line with Houzz reporting a 51% increase in searches for ‘marble bathroom’ between January – March 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, interest in marble-inspired Metrowall waterproof panelling, such as Bardiglio, pictured above, is growing steadily. Providing a luxurious and durable surface solution, Metrowall is a stylish, cost-effective alternative to tiles and also benefits from being ultra-hygienic and easy to clean and maintain.

Statement freestanding baths are more than showroom showstoppers as evidenced by Houzz, which reports searches for these standalone tubs grew by 53%.

At Waterline, we’re seeing consumers increasingly prioritising accessible luxury as they opt for statement freestanding baths that combine timeless elegance with affordability. At the same time, homeowners are becoming more discerning with their purchases and are also seeking durable, high-quality and sustainable materials that don’t cost the earth. It’s resulted in increased demand for metal baths with freestanding brass and copper models leading the way.

Wood-Drenched Interiors
Throughout the home wood is the material of the moment as consumer interest in wood-drenched interiors continues to reach new heights. Houzz reports that homeowners are increasingly embracing natural materials ‘to bring warmth and character indoors’ with searches for ‘oak kitchen’ up a massive 214% and ‘wood kitchen’ by 116%. It’s a trend that is being led by Crown Imperial, which introduced 4 new wood-effect finishes to its Textura kitchen furniture range earlier this year.

Stylish Drink Stations
With the UK’s love of home entertaining showing no sign of slowing down, like Houzz, we’ve found that interest in stylish drink stations is soaring. As searches for ‘drinks cabinet’ rose by 56% on the platform, Crown Imperial has been helping more customers create sociable kitchen spaces with its larders and pantries taking centre stage. As well as providing the perfect place for glassware and bottles, Crown Imperial’s larders and pantries are also ideal for creating coffee stations, which is also top of many consumer wish lists with searches on Houzz growing by 77%.

 Functional design
‘Beautiful design can also be practical and this year’s data highlights increased interest in functional design elements,’ says the Houzz report. It’s a trend that we’ve been championing for some time now here at Waterline with our laundry cupboards increasingly being used in utility spaces as well as other rooms, including bathrooms. And with Houzz reporting that searches for ‘bathroom with laundry space’ increased by 190%, it’s a trend that we think will continue to gain traction for some time to come.
