Whirlpool Corporation has been named in the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) in recognition of its ongoing focus on responsible and ethical business practices.

In 2022, Whirlpool Corporation continued to invest in its environmental sustainability strategy to reduce its climate impact and progress toward its Net Zero emissions target in global plants and operations by 2030. Whirlpool UK’s Peterborough HQ and manufacturing facility in Yate have already achieved the goal of zero waste to landfill. The company is also trialling biofuel in its on-site vehicles, as well as working towards its entire fleet becoming 50% electric by 2025, including company cars, engineers’ vans and delivery vehicles. The company is also developing its appliances to increase resource efficiency and contain more recycled or recyclable materials.

"We are immensely proud to be acknowledged for our global efforts to drive environmental and social sustainability through our business operations, product innovation, and community engagement initiatives,” said Marc Bitzer, chairman and CEO of Whirlpool Corporation, pictured. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our 69,000 employees around the globe who have worked hard to drive meaningful change and improve life at home and on our planet.”
