It's all about colour, says Helen Clark of Utopia Bathrooms

Helen Clark, head of marketing at Utopia Bathrooms, talks about colour in the bathroom.

In the past, colour in the bathroom was all down to the bathroom suite but thankfully now colour can be in the furniture, tiles, accessories, taps and even lighting, so it’s much more versatile and also much easier to change.

From a furniture point of view, we know customers want to add their own personality to a room and colour is the perfect way to do this. As a rule, lighter colours work well in smaller spaces, often making them look bigger, whereas larger spaces can carry those popular richer or darker shades more easily.

Colour and texture were key elements in the development of our major product launch this summer. Seven new foil door finishes were introduced, along with two stunning new colours for the heritage-inspired Roseberry painted timber collection. Roseberry fitted furniture is pictured above in new Emerald Green.

Carefully selected to anticipate trends for both colour and finish, the new foil finishes are Azure Blue, Blush, Sea Green, Storm Grey, Silver Fusion, Pewter Fusion and Burnt Copper, all available across the Original Fitted, YOU, iLine, Symmetry and Geo ranges. Silver Fusion and Pewter Fusion have a lightly textured surface appearance giving visual depth to the colours while Burnt Copper has a tactile metallic finish.

Blues, greys and pinks are particularly popular, so much so that we have added three new greys, two more pinks and one blue to our existing colour palette. This means we are now offering our widest colour choice yet. But it’s not all about vibrant colour, subtle shades, such as new Blush and Sea Green, provide colour but in a more tranquil state.

We also have a whole palette of neutral colours such as Latte, Aragon Flint, English Parchment and Parchment Gloss which offer a warm, natural alternative to white and are very similar to Brave Ground, Dulux’s Colour of the Year for 2021.

With this greatly enhanced colour choice, we are offering an incredible range of colour combinations from dazzling new on-trend options through to tried and tested favourites. To help customers find their ideal choice, Visualise, our online design tool, enables them to experiment endlessly with colour and combinations of colour. This, together with our free sample service, means our customers can design their dream bathroom with complete colour confidence.
