Westin has revealed that it will be officially launching its new Stratus 360 ceiling hood (pictured) within the standard hood collection at KBB Birmingham 2024 on 3rd March, featuring the brand's 360 recirculation technology, which combines four filtering systems within one device, each one of which plays a vital role in providing purified, clean air back into the kitchen.
The second hood within The Collection to benefit from the Westin 360 technology will be the Prime 360 built in hood, with a Summer 2024 release planned.
The revolutionary four-point filtration system disperses fresh air back into the kitchen, and the final filtration stage ensures that not only the air that passes through the hood is cleansed, but that the air within the whole kitchen environment is actively purified in the room.
The first filtration level of any cooker hood is the grease filter, which plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of both the hood itself, and the wider kitchen environment. The second filter in the 360 system is the activated carbon filter. The Westin activated carbon filter also includes Zeolites, a natural compound that actively breaks down harmful chemicals produced during cooking.
The third filtration level is the HEPA filter. HEPA stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Air, and these filters are designed to capture particles as small as 0.3 microns with a 99.97% efficiency rate. The final filtration level utilises Ultra Violet to provide a stream of active, natural air cleansers into the kitchen environment. The UV filtration has the added benefit of addressing particles and odours from the wider kitchen environment, such as those produced by wall ovens, or air fryers.
