Dornbracht has extended its reconditioning business model, Dornbracht ReCrafted, into the hospitality sector. Since February 2023, the company has been reclaiming its used products from private homes, hotels and offices in Europe, remanufacturing them at the Iserlohn factory, and then returning them back to the market for consumers to buy; a process that saves up to 40% of CO2 per remanufactured washstand fitting compared to new.
The company says that Dornbracht ReCrafted now gives hotel owners, architects and specifiers the chance to buy reconditioned fittings which have been restored to their original iconic design, helping them to reduce the carbon footprint of their projects.
Mario Gutt, senior sustainability & transformation manager, pictured, has been involved with Dornbracht ReCrafted from its early inception. He said: “We understand the need for hospitality refurbishments to demonstrate high levels of sustainability and are delighted to be the first manufacturer to offer a service of this level. Once fittings have been collected from our hotel partners, we can offer 3 options; the same fittings re-installed, refurbished pieces from our portfolio in a different style or an entirely new product. Whichever option is chosen, we are making a valuable contribution to environmental protection through the restored pieces going back to the market; our fittings are given a new lease of life and remain celebrated for decades.”
Dornbracht ReCrafted is now available to projects in the UK. Interested parties who would like to return their Dornbracht products can contact Dornbracht Project Sales, or get in touch with the company by email at recrafted@dornbracht.com. Dornbracht will bear the cost of returning the product.
