As Abode prepares to launch its new Focus 60 bathroom collection in January 2025, we talk to product manager & project lead David Boddy about the power of a focal point in a co-ordinated design, and the support the company will be offering retailers.
Q: Tell us about the new collection – what does it consist of?
A: Our exciting new collection, Focus 60, will introduce our latest design concept for the bathroom, which centres around 60cm wash zones and brings together a suite of products that are designed to co-ordinate in one complete bathroom space. This launch will see Abode increase its product offer within the bathroom industry with a range of new brassware collections, finish options and sustainable design elements with the introduction of 4 additional product categories.
Q: Why are you launching it now?
A: Taking a systematic approach to bathroom design, Abode wants to empower the UK homeowner, so they are fully equipped to create a bathroom décor where several key elements are interlinked and easily sourced as one package of products. We have been noting that the rise of the multi-bathroom home, complete with downstairs cloakroom and en suite bathrooms. This has meant that creative solutions specifically for the wash zone are in demand both from both retailers and homeowners. With this in mind, we wanted to deliver a complete package to redefine the 60cm wash zone as the new bathroom focal point.
Q: How does it differ from previous concepts?
A: Achieving simplicity so end users can focus on the style and arrangement of essential fixtures and fittings was the inspiration behind this brand-new bathroom collection. By fully understanding the power of a focal point, we’re confident our new suite of bathroom products will help customers transform their bathroom into a sanctuary, where individual style, mood, character, quality, tone, and atmosphere are defined.
Q: Is it in response to any particular trends?
A: We have been tracking trends around customisation and anticipate that clever co-ordination will be the order of the day in 2025 as the desire for creating a floor-to-ceiling signature style hits big in the designer en suite bathroom. Products that meet the wants of minimalist design for a calming, spa-like sanctuary while also having eco benefits behind them was of particular interest to us. Ultimately, a solution that is easy to select and straightforward to install, all-in-one bathroom solutions will be the new fast track to tailored bathroom luxury, as homeowners seek out coherent bathroom schemes where every element is carefully considered, complementary, and in proportion to the space.
Q: What does it offer retailers and designers?
A: Having the option to deliver a complete suite with recommended packages takes the guesswork out of pulling together all the various components needed for the perfectly coordinated space and ensures that every inch is used to its best advantage. This is also placing an emphasis on good ergonomics, which is key when using complete bathroom solutions as the layout can be easily configured to suit both home and lifestyle.
Q: What support is Abode offering retailers with the latest collection?
A: Ahead of the official Focus 60 launch in January 2025, we will be introducing an exclusive retail display offer in addition to our comprehensive support package. Supported by our dedicated website, Abode retailers will also have access to digital assets, printed brochures and the latest tailored marketing materials as part of our Accumulate Loyalty scheme. Q: How optimistic are you feeling about the market looking ahead?
A: I think that the market is responding very well given the flourishing wellness, personal care and beauty sector in the UK, which naturally centres on the bathroom as a sanctuary and grooming area. This means that every aspect of the bathroom package is becoming a much more intimate and personal purchase. With this in mind, we are hugely committed to supporting our retailers and design partners as we appreciate that end users are more likely to free up their budgets when they can see and feel the quality of everything from brassware to complete suites in person. We believe in doing our utmost to assist retailers so that they can guide individual clients when making the right choices when it comes to finishes given the anticipated levels of use and the rationale behind the project.
