If you're part of the kitchen and bathroom industry and can only attend one trade show in 2025, make it KBIS says SENSTEC USA MD Mark Conacher – you won't regret it.
This year's Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) is set to kick off tomorrow at the Las Vegas Convention Center running from 25th - 27th February. It's fast-paced, high-energy, and filled with opportunities to make connections that will last long after it ends. Whether you're a UK business interested in entering the US market, a US business looking for innovative products from around the world, or a designer or installer eager to see what's next in KBB design, KBIS has something for you. It's a show that will leave you buzzing with endless possibilities.
Talks and Presentations
If you're serious about staying ahead of the curve, the talks and presentations are not to be missed. One that's always worth attending is Bill Darcy's 'State of the Association & State of the Industry'. Bill is the Global President & CEO of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), and his presentation always offers valuable insights into where the industry is heading, what we have learnt and what's next for businesses in the kitchen and bathroom world.
The KBIS NEXTStage is another major highlight, packed with talks from leading design, business, and technology experts. This stage will take you on a journey exploring new products and learning about the latest business strategies. The NEXTStage is a real hub of ideas and inspiration. The speakers are first-class, and you'll leave each session inspired. One talk to look out for is 'The Windsor Declaration: Driving Global Change' with Bill Darcy (NKBA) and the UK's own Tom Reynolds, chief executive of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA).
Global Connect
For UK businesses, the NKBA's Global Connect talks are incredibly relevant. If you're considering expanding into the US market, this is the place to learn about the opportunities and the very real challenges you'll face. The sessions cover everything from market trends to best practices for navigating the US business landscape. As someone who's already made the leap, these talks are an invaluable resource, so much so that I’m excited to share that SENSTEC USA have recently committed to the Global Connect programme. I'll be spending a good portion of my own time around the Global Connect Lounge, so make sure to stop and say hello.
Networking
Like other trade shows, a huge benefit of attending KBIS is the networking opportunities. The connections you make at KBIS can make a real difference for your business. Whether you're there as an exhibitor or just attending to learn, you'll meet so many people eager to help you grow and succeed. One of my most significant networking moments at KBIS was meeting SENSTEC's very first US showroom partner, JTEK Home Access Design. That face-to-face meeting played such a crucial role in placing SENSTEC in their showroom.
The British / International Pavilions
If you're a US business looking for something fresh, the British Pavilion will definitely be worth visiting. The UK is known for its innovative products, and once again, the British Pavilion has companies exhibiting that are pushing the boundaries of kitchen and bathroom design. If you're a US company and want something that sets you apart from your competition, this is where you'll find it. Collaboration is a 2-way street, and the international pavilions are a great opportunity for US businesses to learn from other parts of the world and vice versa. It's all about sharing knowledge and finding ways to work together to create better products and solutions for consumers.
The Grammys of KBB
Away from the trade show floor, the Kitchen & Bath Design & Industry Awards is an event you won't want to miss. Picture it as the Grammys of kitchen and bath design. An incredibly exciting evening where the best of the best in design are celebrated, and with prize money totalling $100,000, it's sure to be a very special night for some. It's another fantastic opportunity to connect and get inspired with people who share your passion for great design in kitchens and bathrooms.
Bonus
When attending KBIS, you're just steps away from another powerhouse event: the International Builders' Show (IBS), and regardless of which event you attend, your ticket covers you for the other. In an adjacent hall at the Convention Centre, IBS is the ultimate destination for anyone in installation, remodelling, or home building. It's packed with cutting-edge products, demos, and expert-led talks covering everything from sustainable building practices to the latest in smart home technology. For me, as an ex-installer, this show is always the cherry on top of the ice cream.
Las Vegas
The city itself is a hub of energy and excitement, making it the perfect backdrop for KBIS. Las Vegas is all about fun, and as tempting as it is to dive wildly into the nightlife and entertainment, it pays to remember why you're here. KBIS is a huge investment in your business so stay focused on what you want to achieve. You won't be able to see everything, so make sure you have a plan and prioritise the talks and meetings that could have the biggest impact on your business. It's easy to get overwhelmed, but with a clear goal and strategy, you'll make the most of your time at the show.
