Roper Rhodes expands into state-of-the-art site to support continued growth
Roper Rhodes has announced it is moving to a new, state-of-the-art distribution centre in Severn Beach, South Gloucestershire. The company says this milestone is a result of the strong growth it has experienced over the last 15 years.
The business has outgrown its previous facility in Portbury – a facility it had relocated to in 2016 to support previous expansion. It has made the move to this larger 235,000sq ft distribution hub with storage capacity of 44,000 pallets and pick faces for 12,000 SKUs to enhance operational efficiency and enable further extension of its product portfolio. As well as stock holding and fulfilment it will also be home to larger showroom spaces for all the company’s proprietary brands: Roper Rhodes, R2, Tavistock & Trade Solutions, have improved customer conference facilities and a purpose-built photographic studio.
“We’ve experienced fantastic sales growth over the past few years. Our new distribution centre will ensure that our extremely generous inventory strategy can be maintained and will allow us to continue to provide excellent customer service to all our customers into the future,” said William Steele, chief operations officer.
CEO Leigh Leather added: “This relocation is important as it not only reflects our progress as business but also our commitment to the people who work here and the area. A long period of time was spent waiting for the right place to become available in close proximity to Portbury which would allow us to continue to retain our existing workforce”.
Work has already begun on preparing the building with plans to begin operations at the Matrix, Severn Beach in July 2026.
