In a move that it says represents 'treading a new path', Grohe has introduced an entry-level tap portfolio for the kitchen and bathroom – Baulines. The new range is said to be a 'functional all-rounder' and ergonomic to use, with an extended angle at the tip combined with a tapered spout ensuring a more measured water flow, and preventing water from splashing when washing hands.
Other design features include the fact that the surface of the taps are sealed so that impurities cannot enter, and there are also dedicated inner waterways to make sure that the water has no contact with lead or nickel. These also have no contact with the body of the tap, which results in a barrier between hot water and the external surface to minimise scalding. Added to that, a flow restrictor reduces water consumption from 10 litres per minute to just over five litres per minute, while an aerator enriches the water with air, ensuring the same voluminous experience as with conventional taps.
In the UK, the Baulines range will also feature additional product offerings including: the BauEdge basin mixer designed to provide a powerful water flow to homes with low pressure; the BauEdge all-in-one shower set for those seeking a complete bath and shower system; and additional bath and shower mixer models.
The Baulines taps, Bau ceramic and Bau accessories ranges match in both design and function to create a fully co-ordinated design concept.
