Grohe has unveiled the fourth generation of Eurosmart, its best-selling range of kitchen and bathroom taps. The reimagining of the classic Grohe line is designed with the needs of a modern user in mind. The stand-out product is a reinvention of the classic bathroom tap: a 2-in-1 hybrid that's designed for bathrooms in the post-COVID world and combines a one-handed mixer with ultra-hygienic contact-free control.
"Eurosmart evolves with every generation, which is crucial if you want to bring meaningful products to the market," said Jonas Brennwald, Leader Lixil EMENA and Co-CEO, Grohe AG. "Our environment is constantly transforming, and we need to react to changing needs with new product solutions. Right now, a global health crisis is forcing the world to rethink hygiene standards. Therefore, we have developed a hybrid version of Eurosmart, which combines hygiene-enhancing touchless and manual operation."
The tap has been created with hygienic quality in mind, with an access-friendly design that also means it can be used by children and the elderly. Users can decide whether they wish to use the tap's manual lever or engage its "touchless technology" by activating water flow with the integrated sensor. The Eurosmart is also now equipped with a new safe-stop technology – with a built-in thermostat, the temperature of the water can be limited to help reduce the risk of scalding. Other stand-out items for bathrooms and kitchens include: a pull-out spout, that makes washing hair or cleaning the sink easy; space-saving wall-mounted taps; and models with pull-out hoses.
"The lever variants... reflect the complexity of different living situations and the fact that every consumer has different requirements," explained Brennwald. "Long levers simplify the daily work of doctors, while loop levers are perfect for children, the elderly and those with reduced or limited mobility."
The Eurosmart kitchen range will feature two tap height variants, with options to suit customers who want either a low- or high-sitting product. There is also a brand new design: the Grohe Eurosmart Kitchen 2-Handle Mixer. Products in the Eurosmart kitchen range come with the added bonus of being easy to install, with Grohe's FastFixation Plus system built into the taps, meaning no tools are required.
A nod to environmental concerns has also been incorporated into Eurosmart, with the brand's Grohe EcoJoy integrated into the range to help save both water and energy.
