MHK UK has become the first retail buying group partner to support Midea’s launch in the independent kitchen retail channel. The partnership will make Midea Group’s innovative kitchen appliances available to MHK members on favourable buying terms.

Appliance manufacturer Midea officially entered the UK market in 2022, growing from strength to strength in electrical retail and e-comm channels. It has now set ambitions to grow with kitchen retailers, and has chosen MHK as the ideal partner to support this.

David Morris, pictured right, sales director for MHK, said: “We see real potential for Midea in the UK. It’s a brand with high-quality innovations at an attractive price point. We know that the introduction of new brands and product innovation can stimulate the market, and feedback from our members is that there is an appetite for newness. Midea’s appliances are exciting and novel, which gives retailers a story to tell their customers during the design process.

"Midea are clearly investing in building this channel with a relationship-first approach and we look forward to playing a part in the success story by launching their products on favourable pricing terms to our UK members.”

Ben Day, pictured left, kitchen channel national account manager at Midea, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to join forces with MHK, a highly respected organisation that shares our dedication to quality, innovation, and exceptional customer service. Independent retailers are the lifeblood of the UK kitchen industry, providing unparalleled design expertise and localised service. By partnering with MHK, we are empowering these retailers with an incredibly strong appliance proposition, combining world-class technology with highly attractive commercial terms that drive margin and growth.”

Midea and MHK UK officially announced their partnership at a joint event for Midea and Teka in Manchester, which saw over 30 customers enjoy a gastronomical experience cooked on Teka appliances by TV chef James Martin.

Midea will join MHK’s growing roster of over 6 suppliers across kitchen and bathroom furniture, appliances, components as well as outdoor kitchens and audio-visual technology for the home. Each of these suppliers are accessible under the same favourable buying terms, levelling the field for independent retailers.
