When Theo Constanti, owner of worktop specialist The Marble Group, won £5,000 at the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards he immediately decided to donate the money to the victims of the war in the Ukraine.
“Our customer Colour House Interiors was on our table and one of its directors, Lily Murray, is from Ukraine,” said Constanti. “So, I knew what I was going to do with the money if I won. We do loads of charitable work like working with a lot of schools and making donations. It’s part of what we do as a business. It’s all about community and kindness – all part of our own values. There’s a lot of people suffering at the moment, so they need our support.”
The £5,000 prize giveaway was part of a sponsorship of the event by CAD technology provider Virtual Worlds. Constanti, pictured on the left, was presented with his winnings by Virtual Worlds MD Nathan MacLean, right, and TV host Vernon Kay, centre.
Nathan MacLean said: “For Virtual Worlds joy and fun is in our DNA, which is why we were keen to sponsor the special prize giveaway. While we were all fortunate enough to attend the awards and enjoy ourselves, the events unfolding elsewhere in the world were never far from our minds and we are so pleased that thanks to the actions The Marble Group, the positivity we all enjoyed on the evening will be sent back out into the world to help those affected by the war in Ukraine.”
