Artelinea showcased its new Dicroico collection of freestanding basins manufactured with four slabs of stratified glass, to visitors at Il Salone del Mobile 2022 in Milan.
The name derives from the use of a particular film in the lamination of the glass sheets. This film interacts with light, changing its color according to the observer's point of view, creating a different coloured shadow, depending on how you look at it.
Designed by Davide Vercelli, the collection plays with light and perspectives, with the glass sheets featuring triangle-shaped geometry, and using as little material as possible.
Vercelli said: “Dicroico represents an expansion of the range towards more contemporary targets and the desire to propose an object that enhances the technological capabilities of Artelinea and the depth of its research.”
Artelinea Dicroico measures 416 x 416 x 850mm in height and comes in two versions: transparent and white. The collection is completed by a vertical column with shelves, and will be available to UK retailers in October.
