InstallerSHOW's Joe Sharpe on what to look out for at this year's show

This year's InstallerSHOW is gearing up to be the biggest yet – head of content Joe Sharpe reveals the highlights to look forward to, and how to get the most out of this year's event.

Q: Tell us about this year's InstallerSHOW – what sets it apart from previous years?
A: InstallerSHOW is the UK’s largest event for heat, water, air and energy technology professionals, heading to the NEC on 27th - 29th June 2023. The event debuted at the NEC Birmingham last year, after outgrowing the Ricoh Arena Coventry where it was hosted annually since 2015.

This year, InstallerSHOW will be bigger than ever, filling up Hall 5 of the NEC which is the largest exhibition hall in the UK. The event will welcome 15,000 visitors and over 400 exhibitors, letting you get hands-on with the latest products on the market, take part in training sessions, find out more about the latest updates and trends, get your technical questions answered by the experts, and take products away at special show-only prices.

Q: What will kitchen and bathroom retailers and designers gain from visiting the show?
A: The leading manufacturers from the bathroom industry will be at InstallerSHOW, ready to showcase their latest innovations. With exhibitors including Mira, Triton, Hansgrohe, Roca, Aqualisa, Cistermister, Geberit, Impey, Inta, Saniflo, SIAMP, VitrA and many more, InstallerSHOW is a must-attend event for professionals working in the bathroom space to stay ahead of the game.

But that’s not all. New for InstallerSHOW in 2023, we’ve partnered with the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) for the Bathroom Zone feature. The area will showcase the latest products and solutions, and host discussions, as the association shares its vision for a sustainable future. The Bathroom Zone includes a jam-packed schedule of talks and demonstrations including TV presenter Mark Millar, YouTube sensation PlumberParts, and architect and TV presenter George Clarke, to name just a few.

Q: What highlights should visitors make sure they don't miss while they're there?
A: InstallerSHOW will host a comprehensive schedule of unrivalled live content. Training sessions on heat pumps, the boiler upgrade scheme, and more will run daily at the InstallerTRAINING Theatre. The InstallerPLAZA will host a range of debates, discussions and interviews on the latest renewables updates. There will be interactive demonstrations about how to work with this technology on the ‘Installing the Future. NOW!’ area. And we are delighted to be partnering with the BMA to deliver the Bathroom Zone – a dedicated bathrooms hub for brands and installers alike – featuring product launches, presentations, panel debates and high-profile interviews, plus video and podcast recordings.

Q: What is the best way to get the most out of the show?
A: My advice would be to plan your visit. Tickets to the event are free and we have ensured parking at the NEC is free for InstallerSHOW visitors, plus Birmingham Airport and International train stations make getting there very simple. The event runs for three days, and many of our visitors visit on multiple days, so make sure you set enough time aside to pack in everything you need to do. Our website and show app will make it easy to get around and find the exhibitors and theatres that you’re looking for. Also, make time for some networking and fun. It is a very interactive show with lots to get involved in, so although it’s work, you will have a good time. And comfy shoes. Always comfy shoes!

Q: What elements are you personally looking forward to the most?
A: There is so much going on, but on of tne of the biggest things I’m looking forward to is, InstallerINVENT one of the most popular features of InstallerSHOW, which will be bigger than ever in 2023. The idea is for budding inventors to have a stand free of charge to showcase their innovations. The products can be in the prototype stage, or ready to launch, but it gives the inventors the chance to get invaluable feedback from the people who will be using the kit day in, and day out.

Here are the products looking to make a big impact this year:
EcoDuct
Elite Hydronics
Heat & Hot Water Cylinders
Kelda
Kopva
Thermaltricity International
Thermoelectric Conversion Systems
Quantia Sas
Urecsys
Workfolio for Trades

I’m also excited to bring the community together, share stories and experiences, get technical questions answered, and discuss the latest tools, industry updates and trends.

Q: What can we expect from the InstallerSHOW in the future?
A: That is a great question – we have big plans for 2024! We have just announced the launch of Installer Kitchens & Bathrooms which will debut alongside our 2024 InstallerSHOW at the NEC. The event will showcase the role technology and innovation play in shaping the kitchens and bathrooms of the future. News of the launch has been warmly welcomed by key industry bodies, including BiKBBI and BMA, and we look forward to be extending an established InstallerSHOW to the kitchen and bathroom industry. More information will be shared following InstallerSHOW 2023, so keep your eyes peeled.
