New channel director for Whirlpool UK Appliances

Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited, parent company of Hotpoint, Indesit, Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands, has announced the appointment of Russell Owens as channel director. He joins the Whirlpool team from previous roles including sales and marketing director at Samsung Electronics. During his 12 years at Samsung, he implemented marketing and channel strategies for its portfolio of white goods, while building and maintaining relationships with major retailers.

In his new role, Russell will work closely with housebuilders, the contract market, kitchen specialists and distributors that serve kitchen studios, with the aim of providing appliance solutions for a range of property and kitchen styles that will appeal to a variety of demographics. His overall objective will be to grow the company’s share in both the contract and kitchen specialist markets.

Russell said: “With our strong portfolio of brands and products, an award-winning in-house logistics service, as well as dedicated after-sales and customer care teams, we plan to increase our success in both the contract and kitchen specialist channels. I’m looking forward to enhancing our offering to housebuilders and kitchen studios, highlighting and developing our strong portfolio and capabilities to ensure we meet our targets.”

Andrzej Tuleja, general manager, UK and Ireland, Whirlpool UK Appliances, added: “We are delighted to welcome Russell to the Whirlpool family and wish him much success in his new role. The appointment of someone with his experience and calibre is further demonstration of both our growth and our strong plans for the future to continue this success.”
