Keuco designs accessible bathrooms for German hospital ward

Family-owned German bathroom furnishings manufacturer Keuco has designed the bathrooms in the contemporary new Comfort ward in the Göttingen-Weende Protestant Hospital.

There are 20 rooms in the Comfort ward, where patients can enjoy the panoramic views of Göttingen during the recovery process. The rooms are all tastefully designed with well-being in mind, furnished with Keuco’s products that combine accessibility with a contemporary style, incorporating sleek fittings, accessories, and cosmetic mirrors.

Two of Keuco’s interior finishes have been used in the bathrooms: Lustred Chrome and Matt Black. The washbasin has a generous area surrounding it and the IXMO FLAT single-lever mixer tap the PLAN hair dryer, the iLook_move cosmetic mirror and the PLAN CARE sanitiser dispenser work together to create an elegant look.

The PLAN toilet paper holder and grab bar are mounted at the ideal height whilst the premium Keuco AXESS drop-down supporting rail, designed by Studio F. A. Porsche, is located at the WC, so less-abled patients can support themselves. This minimalist rail can be dropped down when in use or folded away when not needed as it lies extremely flat against the wall and is hardly recognisable as a supporting rail.
