Egger Group achieves major recognition for sustainability performance

Wood-based material manufacturer Egger Group has revealed it has achieved major recognition for its sustainability performance. For the first time, Egger has been awarded the coveted EcoVadis Gold Medal, and in addition, it has once again been awarded Prime Status in the ISS ESG rating – as the leading company in the industry.

Egger says its sustainability commitment goes hand in hand with facts, evidence and the pursuit of continuous improvement. It recently published the sustainability journal Valuable, which takes readers on a journey and shows the measures the family company is taking to realise its strategic ambitions. In addition, analyses by ESG rating agencies have provided valuable insights and important pointers for the company when it comes to reaching its potential for further improvement.

“To us, sustainable management is not just a phrase. We have high standards for our sustainability management and our transparent reporting. We are constantly striving for improvement. We are very pleased that we have now succeeded in doing this," said Thomas Leissing, CFO & spokesman for the group management.

This is the 6th time that EcoVadis has recognised Egger Group's sustainability performance, however, this year the company was awarded the Gold Medal for the first time. This means that Egger is now among the top 5% of all companies rated by EcoVadis worldwide and across all industries. The assessment is based on 21 criteria, subdivided into the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

ISS ESG is one of the leading rating agencies in the sustainable investment segment. It has awarded the Egger Group Prime Status in Corporate Rating for the fifth time. Companies with Prime status are considered sustainability leaders in their industry.
