Westin launches BBQ Pro Hood for outdoor kitchens
Westin Cooker Hoods has announced the launch of the BBQ Pro Hood, a new addition to its standard product lineup, specifically engineered for covered, luxury outdoor kitchen environments.
According to the Houzz 2025 Home Renovation Trends Report, the popularity of outdoor kitchen spaces surged by 50% in 2024, as homeowners increasingly seek to create high-end, professional level cooking spaces within their garden structures. Westin says it has been uniquely positioned to identify and respond to this emerging demand due to a dramatic increase of requests for this type of extraction within the company's bespoke service.
“Extraction for covered outdoor areas has always been a niche requirement,” says James Rayner, commercial director at Westin. “However, in the past 12 to 18 months, we've seen a significant rise in requests for more robust, purpose-built solutions for outdoor kitchens within garden rooms, especially solutions designed to match the heat and fume potential of barbecues.”
Traditionally, extracting heat and fumes from barbecue appliances in enclosed outdoor areas has posed significant challenges. Until now, the only viable option involved remote motor systems and the elimination of on-board controls and lighting due to extreme temperatures.
The BBQ Pro Hood changes that. Now available as a ready-to-install, off-the-shelf solution, this innovative product integrates heat-resistant, tuneable lighting, durable electronics, built-in controls, and high-performance motors — all engineered to withstand the intense heat levels generated by outdoor grilling equipment. These elements are brought together in a stylish body design, manufactured of high grade 316 marine grade stainless steel.
The BBQ Pro hood is available in 3 standard sizes – 1100mm, 1400mm and 1700mm.
