Geberit appoints new national sales director for UK & Ireland
Geberit UK & Ireland has announced the appointment of Matthew Balnaves as its new national sales director, succeeding Andy Lever, who was recently appointed MD following the retirement of Mark Larden.
Matthew joins Geberit from wienerberger, where he held the role of Head of Commercial Excellence, and prior to that spent 15 years at Hilti in a range of senior commercial and leadership positions. He brings 18 years’ experience in the construction sector, with a strong track record in sales leadership, commercial strategy and team development across international markets. He holds an MBA and has also completed a global leadership development programme.
In his new role, Matthew will be responsible for leading Geberit’s national sales function across the UK and Ireland, overseeing a 49 strong sales team, and playing a key role in driving sustainable growth. His remit will include supporting customers as the industry navigates smarter specification, water efficiency and regulatory compliance, while accelerating adoption of Geberit innovations, such as Geberit FlowFit.
Commenting on his appointment, Matthew said: “I’m proud to be joining a company with such a strong heritage for innovation and engineering excellence. Geberit has an outstanding reputation not just for the quality of its products, but for the way it supports customers through expertise, reliability and trust. My immediate focus is on spending time with our people and our customers to understand their challenges. By working in partnership, we can help customers navigate regulation and compliance with confidence, unlock efficiencies on site and deliver better long-term outcomes through smarter specification and installation.”
Andy Lever added: “Matthew brings extensive experience in sales leadership and commercial strategy within the construction sector. His background, combined with his people-first leadership style, aligns strongly with Geberit’s values. As we continue to invest in innovation and sustainable growth, we are delighted to welcome him to the business.”
