Five HIMACS Terrazzo colours have been honoured with the Red Dot Design Award 2026 in the Product Design category, one of the world's most respected design distinctions. The award recognises a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional terrazzo aesthetics, combining expressive design with responsible material innovation.

The award-winning colours, Terrazzo Ulivo (Q102), Terrazzo Nuvola (Q103), Terrazzo Sorrento (Q105), Terrazzo Marsala (Q106) and Terrazzo Selva (Q107), were all introduced as part of the 2026 HIMACS colour launch. Each design incorporates SCS-certified pre-consumer recycled content, demonstrating how contemporary design and sustainability can successfully coexist within a high-performance solid surface material.

Inspired by the traditional Italian terrazzo technique, the HIMACS Terrazzo range reimagines this timeless aesthetic through rich textures, carefully balanced colour palettes and distinctive mineral-inspired patterns. The result is a versatile surface solution that the company says is suited to hospitality, retail, workplace and residential environments.

A key aspect of the award-winning designs is the integration of recycled material generated during the manufacturing and fabrication processes. Production offcuts are recovered and reintroduced into new material formulations, supporting a more circular approach to manufacturing. Among the awarded colours, Terrazzo Selva (Q107) has 25% SCS-certified pre-consumer recycled content.
