It's the interiors trend that consumers can't get enough of – fluted glass offers enough opacity to create privacy without blocking out light, while adding a stunning visual effect via its curved linear patterns. Emma Hedges delves into the latest launches, and rounds up 10 fluted glass products you need to know about now.

1. The Diesel Open Workshop kitchen from Scavolini offers a broad mix of materials for a variety of effects. The ribbed glass base units on the island are paired with a bronze frame, and offer a solution for the client who likes the idea of open shelving, but wishes to conceal the detail of the cupboard contents as well as protect them from kitchen splashes. Main image above shows fluted glass drawers.

2. The Shower Lab's fixed shower panel from the View Collection comes in a variety of sizes and is shown here in reeded glass, offering a degree of privacy for the user as well as a cool visual effect. The Matt Black frame and co-ordinating fittings add an industrial edge to the aesthetic, and are also offered in White, Brushed Nickel, Polished Nickel, Brushed Gold and Polished Gold.

3. The Renzo Collection from Daval Furniture is pictured in Charred Japanese Wood on the back units, Super Matt Hunter Green on the island, along with a pair of fluted glass doors. The pleasing decorative effect can be enhanced when the cupboard is illuminated from the inside, and prevents the overall look of the island unit from appearing too 'blocky'.

4. The Tekno Basin from Glass Design is made from Florentine crystal and features a captivating fluted décor enhanced here with a Silver finish. It measures 400mm in diameter and comes in countertop or undermount versions. Other finishes available are Platinum, Rose Gold, Gold, Iron, Copper, Bronze, Matt Black and Matt White, and also pictured are the matching Lyric Clivia taps.

5. The Porter range from PWS is a contemporary slab door collection that includes a door with a fluted glass centre panel. Here the glazed look prevents a row of upper wall cupboards from feeling overbearing and overwhelming the space, and gives the homeowner the option to show off the contents when it is lit from within, while blurring the detail of exactly what can be seen.

6. The floorstanding and wall-mounted vanity units in the brand-new Liquid Collection by Tom Dixon for VitrA are available with fluted glass doors, pictured, and also a metal mesh alternative to offer a lighter look than solid wood. The range also includes 5 sets of embossed tiles, shown here co-ordinating with the reeded glass to echo the vertical ridged pattern.

7. These fluted glass illuminated wall cabinets in the Contemporary range from Kesseler offer a sense of symmetry at either side of this scheme, as well as adding an extra dimension in terms of wow. The glazed units have gloss black frames and are shown here with Grey Metal Slate on the surrounding units and Rectory Red matt doors on the island.

8. The fluted glass and the warm rich tones of the Brushed Brass frame combine to add a seriously luxurious element to this bathrooom scheme showing Roman's Liberty hinged door with in-line panel, which has been designed to suit an alcove setting. Also available in four other colour options – Silver Chrome, Brushed Nickel, Polished Nickel and Matt Black.

9. These ribbed Brooklyn Glass Cone Pendant lights from Industville blend industrial and classic styling, and are said to disperse light in an attractive and atmospheric way. Shown here with Brushed Brass holders looking perfect as a pair over a kitchen island, they measure 7inches in diameter, and are also available in Pewter, Copper and Black. 10. The Academy basin stand by Oasis is handmade in the Veneto region of Italy. Shown here with a ribbed mirror glass finish, it also comes in a choice of ribbed coloured glass or ribbed lacquer, as well as diamond bevelled mirror, bronze and smoked mirror glass versions. It comes in four sizes, as well as double basin or bespoke options.
