Taking place on 17th and 18th November at London’s Business Design Centre, 2022's Hotel Interiors Experience (HIX) is set to bring the design community together for a true celebration of everything that makes hotels incredible. We round up 7 bathroom highlights to look out for.
Following a successful debut in 2021, HIX 2022 says it is returning bigger and better, with two full days of networking, discussions, parties, installations and a curated exhibition of Europe’s leading brands planned. It’s free to attend (click HERE to register) and the only place to find the entire hotel supply chain under one roof.
Featuring leading brands including Grohe, Laufen, Roca, Gessi, Effe, Roman, Crosswater and Villeroy & Boch, HIX Expo will highlight the latest trends set to define the next generation of hotel bathroom interiors. Welcoming designers, operators, suppliers, investors developers, specifiers and project managers alike, HIX is Europe’s hotel design event. We round up some of the key bathroom highlights on show.
1. Roca
Paying homage to the diverse shapes of nature from Roca’s native Mediterranean region, the Ona collection (pictured here) channels a crisp, warm aesthetic across its basins, faucets, baths and toilets. Slender and cylindrical basin bodies with a minimalist catalogue of geometric details have been developed by Roca Design Studio, Noa Design and Benedito Design to carry a comforting, harmonious tone, while the innovative Fineceramic material ensures a degree of sustainability with its zero-waste production technique.
2. Effe
Combining sauna, Turkish bath and shower functionality in a single spa space, Effe’s Yoku SH system features a warm and welcoming interior inspired by a branch of Japanese natural medicine called shinrin-yoku, or ‘bath in the forest’ – a practice that champions immersion in nature. Vertical architectural elements in natural wood recall surrounding trees, whilst a mixture of stone shelves and transparent openings in smoked tempered glass combine for an organic experience.
3. Hansgrohe
Combining a generous showerhead with a powerful water spray, AXOR Conscious Showers ensure that water is used sparingly while still delivering on performance. Available in an EcoSmart+ variant that reduces flow rate to less than six litres per minute, the minimalist piece has been designed by Phoenix Design Studio with a range of surface finishes and intricate detailing.
4. Laufen
At HIX 2022, Laufen is presenting the evolution of ILBAGNOALESSI range designed by Stefano Giovannoni. Showcasing lighter forms and the introduction of new furnishings in the brand’s signature SaphirKeramik material, the latest products feature state-of-the-art bathroom technology, along with new finishes and colors. The revamped architecture was the inspiration for five graphic artworks by Snøhetta – one of which is shown below – that draw influence from the collection’s fluid forms.
5. Roman
At HIX 2022, Roman will be showcasing its full range of design and manufacturing capabilities, bringing together different elements of the bathroom to create a tailored and fully integrated solution. On display at HIX are shower enclosures available in a range of 16 metal colour finishes with Anti-Slip Solid Surface Shower Trays, all of which can be seamlessly integrated with accompanying vanity top and basin units.
6. TECE
The TECEone shower toilet combines toilet function with bidet comfort and is nearly indistinguishable from standard ceramics thanks to its stripped-back, essentials-only design. Delivering up to 5.6 litres of water per minute, TECEone features two integrated and intuitive control dials that can be used to continuously regulate water volume and temperature, while a torsion-resistant seat also incorporates a soft-close mechanism.
7. Grohe
Grohe is highlighting its full premium spa ranges, including the Atrio collection, shown here below. Atrio's sleek, cylindrical form is the same diameter from the base to the tip, and every element complements each other to create a powerful single visual statement. Each item in the collection is available in a choice of three finishes and different size options to meet the demands of personal taste. Also on display will be the minimalist Allure range, and Grohe's innovative Icon 3D collection of 3D printed taps.
