Roman has sponsored 11 year old Jenson Blair-Hayman through the County Durham Community Foundation, to help him attend and compete in the Muay Thai World Championships in Thailand. Roman has supported the County Durham Community Foundation for over 15 years and has sponsored many local people, initiatives, and charities. Jenson is very local to Roman, as he lives in Newton Aycliffe.
Jenson is 11 years old and is ranked number 1 for his age and weight category in the martial art, Muay Thai. He has been given the opportunity to compete in the World Championships in Thailand and Roman has made this possible by sponsoring him through the County Durham Community Foundation.
Jenson won his first Muay Thai tournament at 5 years old and has since trained 6 days a week at the Phoenix Thai boxing club in Shildon. He is dedicated to his training schedule and trains after school every day and only takes a Sunday off.
John Wright, chief operations officer, commented: “We’re very closely engaged with our local community and are constantly assisting the local community. When we heard about Jenson we were thrilled to have such a talented young man in the community and keen to help him take this next step and wish him every good luck in the World Championships in Thailand.”
