BMA welcomes Ideal Standard UK MD as new board member

The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) has welcomed Lisa Whitfield, MD of Ideal Standard UK & Ireland, as an honorary officer to its expert board. As a trade body run by its members for its members, the BMA Board members include experts and senior figures from within the sector. Their extensive knowledge and deep understanding help to guide the association in its activities, from addressing and improving sustainability and compliance, to the challenges presented by ever-shifting market forces.

With the appointment of Lisa Whitfield, it will bring the total number of board members to 13. Ideal Standard is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality residential, commercial and healthcare bathroom and washroom solutions. Their brand portfolio includes Armitage Shanks and Ideal Standard. Together, the brands have a strong presence across the construction market.

BMA chief executive Tom Reynolds said: “I’m grateful to have Lisa on our board. The knowledge and experience she brings will help provide the expert views required for the future of our sector and the association. As Ideal Standard is pushing extensively on sustainability and ESG goals, their efforts align with the BMA ambitions and will help guide our industry to make a difference.”

Lisa Whitfield, pictured, explained: “It’s a great honour for me to join the Bathroom Manufacturers Association board, which works incredibly hard to ensure it represents the views of our industry and its members. I join at a time when sustainability is high on the agenda for every industry. With collaboration and continued efforts, I expect our industry will become a benchmark for others to follow. We have the knowledge, passion and drive to make this a reality. I look forward to contributing to the association’s goals as it continues to grow.”
