From pastel, blush and rose, through to a hot Barbie hue, pink is the colour of the moment when it comes to bathrooms, and the great thing is, you can use as much or as little of it as you like to achieve the look.

1. This design by Ripples featuring the palest of pink backdrops in the form of glossy ceramic tiles in a vertical stacked laying pattern shows how effective the shade can be when used on walls. The softness of the tone helps bring a sense of calm and harmony to the bathroom space, providing the perfect environment for relaxing and unwinding in.

2. For a stronger backdrop, this bathroom features Multipanel’s Antique Rose decor from the Tile collection, complemented by secondary colours such as grey in the flooring and green across the finishings to add pops of colour that pair perfectly with pink. It has been finished with edgier bathroom products such as the bath and vanity unit to add an industrial vibe.

3. If furniture is your vehicle of choice for some pink treatment, then how about this piece from Utopia's Roseberry fitted furniture collection, which offers a modern interpretation of traditional luxury painted timber furniture with a classic raised and fielded door. The collection is available in fitted, wall mounted and freestanding configurations – shown here in delicate Rose Quartz, this double basin unit creates an elegant focal point.

4. These Statement Modular basin and wall units from Bathrooms to Love by PJH are pictured here in Matt Antique Rose. The wall-hung units are shown complemented with 20cm Brushed Brass handles, and teamed with a White Slate laminate top and Luxey Matt Marble-effect round Washbowl. The drawer units feature smoked glass sides, anti-slip liners and soft-close fittings.

5. A single pink piece of furniture can still elevate a space – here a unit from the contemporary-style YOU range from Utopia is shown in Matt Blush, complemented by glossy white surfaces and brushed brass. Utopia's Kew Classic Cream wall tiles, Cararra Marble 12mm Compact Laminate worktop and Opula Ceramic sit-on basin add to the overall fresh feel.

6. The placement of the epic Casini freestanding bath from BC Designs on a raised platform beneath the window works wonders to emphasise its distinctive design, but it's the Satin Rose finish that gives it the added wow factor. The curves of the Casini bath are then echoed in all the other forms in the scheme, from the circular basin, curved brassware and fittings, through to the rounded corners of the mirror and vanity unit.

7. For something a little different, how about the Albion Bath Company's Trident Shower Bath in this delicious shade of ice cream pink, which is then given an added twist with some funky hot pink tiles. The Trident is manufactured so two of the edges fit directly against the bathroom wall, and the exterior colour can be finished in any Dulux Trade or Farrow & Ball colour, or one of Albion's 3 metallic burnished finishes.

8. For a more discreet – but nonetheless effective – centrepiece, a beautiful basin is the way forward. The Amara countertop basin from the London Basin Company is handcrafted from pale pink porcelain, and its floral shape is embellished with silver-grey detailing both inside and out. Measuring 41.5cm in diameter and 15cm high, its surface is said to be able to withstand the rigours of everyday use, but needs to be cleaned using a mild detergent.

9. To create a focal point within this compact cloakroom, the designer from Ripples working on this project chose a blush pink concrete basin with a unique fluted design. They then paired this with a minimalist basin mixer and round mirror in brushed brass gold, which complements the warmth of the basin and creates a sleek, modern look. The bold black wallpaper on the opposite wall with whimsical jellyfish design balances the pared-back feel.

10. For some vintage-inspired sanitaryware in a glorious shade of Confetti Pink, look no further than the Bespoke Collection from Burlington. For a cool twist, the Edwardian-style range in this fabulously contemporary colour adds a seriously fun element, and is shown here going all-out against a co-ordinating pink backdrop. The collection is also available in Alaska Blue, Enchanted Blue, Cosmic Green, Moon Grey, Medici and Jet.
