Blanco's Tamsin Mills – Our vision for a truly functional kitchen

Blanco's brand communications manager Tamsin Mills highlights the kitchen water place, and reveals Blanco's vision for a hardworking and practical space.

In today’s fast-paced world, the kitchen is not just a place to cook, it’s the heart of the home, where families and friends gather, and meals are shared. Traditionally, the kitchen water place has been understood as a simple area comprising a sink and tap. However, as kitchen design continues to evolve, there is a noticeable shift towards creating a more dynamic space that is as functional as it is stylish. Our approach to this is built on the idea that the kitchen water place should do much more than just dispense water. It should make daily life more convenient and reflect personal style.

At the heart of this is the Blanco UNIT, a holistic, seamless solution that combines a sink, tap, in-cabinet organisation, and waste disposal into one cohesive, stylish hub. The Blanco UNIT is designed to enhance efficiency and user experience in the kitchen, blending high-end technology with practical design. This is our unique approach to the kitchen water place which gives us the edge in a competitive market.

To enhance this even further, Blanco launched the CHOICE drinks system earlier this year, which further extends the ability to create a completely customisable experience for the user. CHOICE is the first drinks system of its kind available in the UK and the innovative system offers filtered still, sparkling, and boiling water, all from one sleek unit that eliminates the need for bottled water and bulky appliances like kettles. The drinks system combines the Blanco CHOICE Icona semi-pro tap with the compact CHOICE.All water conditioning unit, alongside the Blanco App, which gives homeowners control over the exact amount of water dispensed, the temperature of the water or the intensity of the bubbles in sparkling water.

We have acknowledged that there is also a broader desire for appliances to not only perform specific tasks but also adapt to a range of needs. For example the new Blanco ADIRA sink is a fully fledged workstation, with a large flat draining and food preparation area and the multifunctional ADIRA folding grid, which can be used as an additional work level, creating a top working level filling pots and jars, holding hot oven dishes and trays or as draining surface for dishes. The ADIRA 6 S also features a multifunctional colander to help with food preparation.

Blanco’s innovative approach to the kitchen water place extends to additional, functional aids to enhance everyday life. Accessories such as worktop organisers, soap dispensers, chopping boards, and removable sink rails and foldable grids help keep a kitchen neat and offer additional space to complete tasks. Whether this is to prepare meals, clean, or organising, a holistic approach to the kitchen water place ensures everything needed is within arm’s reach.

We believe that the kitchen water place should be more than just a functional area, it should make tasks easier, more enjoyable, and more sustainable. Blanco kitchen water place systems are designed to meet the diverse needs of today’s kitchen users, providing both high performance and thoughtful design.
