Bathroom distributor Faucets has been ‘blown away’ by the support of its customers and suppliers following the success of its Charity Golf Day, which raised over £10,000 for charity.

The annual event took place at the five-star Celtic Manor Resort in Wales, which is home to three championship golf courses, earlier this month. This year, the day of golf was followed by an evening event to celebrate the retirement of long-standing employee Gill Rowland who has worked for Faucets for over 36 years. In day, which included a charity raffle, raised £10,410 which is being split between Macmillan Cancer Support and Make a Wish UK.

Darren Taylor, MD of Faucets, said: “It was great to be back at The Celtic Manor for our annual Charity Golf Day. The weather was perfect, the course spectacular, and challenging! Lovely to see some new faces too, as we also celebrated Gill Rowland's retirement. Gill has been with Faucets for over 36 years, and she developed into a key member of the team. It was the perfect tribute to her that so many turned up including 20+ non-golfers to join in the festivities in the evening. The icing on the cake was we raised over £10k for two terrific charities!”

Tom Reynolds, chief executive of the Bathroom Association, added: “Faucets Golf Day is always a great opportunity for different organisations in the bathroom sector to come together in a relaxed environment. The Bathroom Association is all about connecting in order to deliver greater insights, influence and impact for the whole industry, so we were delighted to partner with Faucets on this year’s event. And the bonus is that together we raised money for great causes.”
