Schmidt accelerates UK expansion with three new showrooms
Schmidt, the European-designed, made-to-measure interiors brand, is continuing its expansion in the UK with the opening of 3 new showrooms: Winchester, Altrincham (pictured), and Derby. These launches come amid a strong 2025 performance, as Schmidt reports record sales and sets out bold ambitions for further growth across the UK.
With more than 90 years of expertise, Schmidt is a family-owned global brand across over 30 countries. The company says the 3 new branches strengthen its footprint across England, strategically located in thriving town centres. Each showroom showcases the full Schmidt portfolio of bespoke kitchens, fitted wardrobes, interior furniture, and living space solutions, all supported by the brand’s renowned design expertise, manufacturing excellence, and after-sales service.
2025 has been a positive year for Schmidt UK, with retail sales up 9% year-on-year and trade and contract kitchens continuing to perform strongly. The company says it remains on track to double its UK showroom network by 2028, reflecting sustained consumer demand and growing confidence in its unique dealership model.
Jean-Michel Peragine, country manager, Schmidt UK, said: “2025 has been a remarkable year for Schmidt UK. The openings in Winchester, Altrincham, and Derby reflect not only our strong sales performance but also our commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences nationwide. These new showrooms mark an important milestone in our journey to make Schmidt a household name in UK interiors.”
Mehdi Azizi, head of UK business development at Schmidt, added: “Schmidt’s dealership model combines entrepreneurial opportunity with long-term support. We invest over £100,000 in every new project, providing partners with comprehensive training, marketing, and design resources to ensure success. With no joining fees or royalties, and exclusive protected territories, more than 85% of Schmidt dealers are debt-free and have been operating successfully for over a decade – a testament we believe to the model’s sustainability and profitability.”
Looking ahead, Schmidt plans further showroom openings across the UK over the next 18 - 24 months, targeting key regional markets.
